FIVE STAR “I PERSISTED” READS

I had to start Donna Tartt’s THE GOLDFINCH twice, and the second read was super engaging!

The same goes for Michael Chabon’s THE AMAZING ADVENTURES OF KAVALIER AND CLAY.

Ditto for Markus Zusak’s THE BOOK THIEF.

I didn’t re-start, but found the beginning slow and the follow-up pages enchanting: Susanna Kearsley’s THE WINTER SEA.

Another stop and start was Margaret Atwood’s terrific THE PENELOPIAD, short but super entertaining as a re-vision of ODYSSEUS.
